Update
June 2006
Since
the beginning of the year Medilux Healthcare Ltd have expanded into a
new market, adding to our Q.Light range of products and the ground breaking
new Episcan Portable Tissue Scanner, recently introduced into the public
and private healthcare market sectors. This update contains an overview
of key developments during 2006. If you or any member of your team have
any questions then please do not hesitate to contact me, Steven Warren,
the author of this update via email at s.warren@timelinesuk.net or by
post or phone at

January
2006 saw Medilux Healthcare Ltd finalise an agreement with the European
CyberKnife Centre (ECZM) in Munich, Germany, to represent them via press
and media, as well as direct contact with all top specialists and specialist
centres in the UK and Ireland. ECZM offers state of the art robotic radiosurgery
treatment for a range of serious and debilitating medical conditions at
their centre, attached to the University Hospital , Munich. They have
special expertise and facilities for tumours in the central nervous system
(brain and spine) but also treat patients with liver, pancreatic and lung
cancer. In addition to cancer, cyberknife radiosurgery has had excellent
results in the treatment of ateriovenous malformation [AVM], trigeminal
neuralgia and acoustic neuroma. More information as to the exact nature
of Cyberknife can be found from the homepage of our site and we are handling
referrals from NHS and private hospital sectors.
June
6th saw a media roll out, now that top specialists have been informed
of this useful option to traditional surgery and radiotherapy. As part
of our awareness-building we have links to major cancer and other medical
charities here in the UK. If you would like to learn more then visit the

releases.
Our
recent direct mailings to some 600 specialist doctors and treatment centres
throughout the UK have included Photodynamic Therapy [PDT]. This uses
defined spectrum light with photosensitising cream for the treatment of
skin cancer and other conditions, and we market both phototherapy devices
and the Episcan portable ultrasound scanner [see below]. Given the excellent
cosmetic results obtained from this form of treatment, PDT is now becoming
widely accepted as an important alternative to traditional ablative and/or
cryosurgery, particularly for skin cancer on the face and head. The PDT
light system marketed by Medilux UK Ltd and our distributors includes
blue and red filters. The blue filter, when combined with a special cream,
provides an accurate assessment of the extent of the cancerous and pre
cancerous sites and the red filter activates the special cream used to
treat the cancer.
Christie
Hospital, Manchester, is now using Episcan to advance their research into
the accurate diagnosis and exploration of treatment options for skin cancer.
Episcan portable tissue scanner is also of growing interest to general
practitioners and local care centres, given the changes in care provision
now taking shape in the UK in line with government directives. We continue
to receive enquiries from various GP markets and are looking for distributors
to extend our market penetration.
We
now have enquiries from those researching the cosmetic market and in line
with the Skin Care Inc article [copies on request] which relates to "
Proving that an aesthetic procedure or products really works has evolved
from the simple, Please tell me all about it and show me before-and-after
photographs, to, Do you have any studies proving what you
are saying is true and accurate?
One
key area of success for phototherapy which is slow in developing here
in the UK is the application to non-healing wounds such as venous leg
ulceration. NICE [The National Institute of Clinical Excellence] is still
waiting to process alternative treatments, other than traditional pressure
and wound dressings, and patients are now demanding better care and choice.
Clinical Director, Steven Warren, is exploring with medical practitioners
in the private sector the use of Q.Light phototherapy for treatment in
these areas, rather than relying on NHS care. Research findings from a
Swiss nursing home clearly demonstrate the tremendous accelerated healing
possible when applying phototherapy for just a few minutes during daily
wound care procedures. Pictures and research are available from our clinical
director by emailing s.warren@timelinesuk.net
Focusing
on new research, findings have just been released of recent research studies
conducted by Professor K Samilova and her team at The Russian Academy
of Science in St Petersburg. These clearly demonstrate the effect of Q.Light
on the whole body [termed the photomodulatory effect] as well as the beneficial
direct biostimulation of body cells and tissue. If you wish to see details
of this research then once again you are requested to contact our Clinical
Director at s.warren@timelinesuk.net
If
you no longer wish to receive our updates then please reply to this email
